THE AUTHOR

Ethan Walker III is the author of eleven books on spiritual topics which can be explored at Devi Press.  His own odyssey began in the late 60s, at the age of 19, as the result of experiences gained taking LSD and other psychedelic substances.

This led to the discovery of the saints, yogis and sages of Hinduism and Buddhism.  His first discipline was in the Rosicrucians.  Two years later he joined the staff of the Summit Lighthouse which was founded by Mark and Elizabeth Prophet messengers for the Ascended Masters.

After 4 years of living an ashram lifestyle, he left and moved back to Oklahoma and married at the age of 29.

Next followed ten years of studying and practicing the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj and the path of non-duality.  During this period, he worked at the practice of self-enquiry and had experiences of non-duality.  This led to a desire to be rid of the ego once and for all.

It was at this time that he met his Guru Amma (Mata Amritanandamayi - the Hugging Saint) at a program in Santa Fe, NM in 1988.  She advised him to learn to practice devotion to the Beloved and to learn to cry with tears of love for God.  He has been on this path since and he has grown in his love for God as the Divine Mother.  He has written an autobiography chronicling his spiritual path titled Into the MysticA story of Light, Love and Bodacious Spiritual Adventures.  This can be reviewed and purchased at Into the Mystic.
